On 17th July 10,000 people will descend on Riverside Organic Farm, at Whatcroft, near Northwich for WhatFest 2009, one of the biggest festivals in the North West. The event is going to be something of a 90s revival, featuring britpop stars Dodgy and The Bluetones as headliners, plus performances from former Inspiral Carpets front-man Tom Hingley, Liverpool’s China Crisis, and Northwich heroes The Shallow Call. In total over 40 bands will take to the stage at the family friendly festival.

Camping is available throughout the festival, with a host of entertainment, hot food stalls, and fully licensed bars on-site. Early booking discounts are now available with tickets starting from £16.50 per day, or £39.50 for a weekend pass.

This year’s Bloom Festival – which describes itself as “the ultimate house party in a field’ – takes place on 14-16th August and features acts such as Esser, Noah and the Whale, Tom Middleton, The Filthy Dukes, Loose Cannons, The Whip and Part Time Heroes. The boutique festival is now in its fourth year and will showcase music across six stages, as well as knitting, burlesque strip tease, kung fu, tai chi, mask making, recyclable art and flamenco classes.

The UK Festival Awards

The UK Festival Awards have become the most recognised and talked about event in the UK Music Festival calendar for both fans and industry alike.

The UK Festival Awards ceremony will take place on the evening of 30th October at the Indigo2, London and will feature some very special live performances as well as a seated meal at the Gaucho Grill.
