What?: Saatchi & Saatchi Stockholm has created a new musical commercial for Sony Ericsson which will air in up to 30 different countries. The new ad features a number of individuals – ranging from a jogger, a girl on a swing and a transvestite – singing 1990 Depeche Mode classic ‘Enjoy The Silence’ in order to promote the W890i Walkman handset. What?: Nivea deodorant has created a fictional five-piece girlband as part of its sponsorship of new ITV drama Rock Rivals – a fictional talent show that’s a mix of Footballers’ Wives and the X Factor. A series of ads showing the girlband rehearsing dance routines, filming videos and backstage will air around the show. Read more

Corsa puts on its Sunday best

What?: Vauxhall Corsa is teaming up with BBC Radio 1’s Rob Da Bank for a series of intimate indoor festival events, entitled Bandstand. The events – which promise to be “quintessentially British” – take place on 3rd May in London and 10th May in Liverpool and will feature Mark Ronson, Annie Mac, Late Of The Pier and The Cuban Brothers amongst others.
