Taco Bell has launched its third annual Battle Of The Bands contest. The three winners (selected from a poll of 100 bands) will have their band name and website printed on the restaurant’s sauce packets. They will also have a song recorded by a producer of their choosing and appear in future advertising for the fast food chain. Read more

Josh Groban on the high seas
Josh Groban is teaming up with Carnival Corporation’s Princess Cruises to screen his Awake Live DVD on ship. The singer’s image will be projected onto 17 of the company’s cruise ships while the DVD of his concert is given an onboard broadcast. The cruise line has previously shown concerts in the past from artists such as Beyoncé, Diana Krall, and Tina Turner. Read more

With a reach of 20M, across 20 countries and 150 cities, it’s a pretty swift advertorial move from the singer – without having to give away an album, Prince-style. A competition will also enable one of his fans to win a chance to join him as his Deputy Editor.

PETA’s latest anti-fur ad features the members of Danity Kane ¬– the girlband formed on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ reality TV show (Making The Band) – stripped naked, under the famous “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” tagline. However, the band has now been literally stripped of two members (D Woods and Aubrey O’Kane – nicknamed Ebony & Ivory). Perhaps they’d rather ‘go’ than wear fur.
